Dec. 17, 2025: The Bronxville Village Board of Trustees met on December 9, 2025.

The Mayor mentioned the recent fire in the Rivermere apartment complex and asked for a moment of silence. She thanked the fire department, the police, the superintendent, and the residents who got their neighbors out of the building. She said that many organizations called the Mayor to offer help and mentioned that "we live in a very kind community."

Shop Local

Mayor Marvin also spoke about several other local events and happenings, and urged people to shop local. Trustee Knapp thanks the Chamber of Commerce and merchants who participated in the tree lighting ceremony. Mayor Marvin pointed out that the Bronxville Football State Champion Team attended the tree lighting. She also said that Take-Back Day went well and reminded people to get their recycling kit.

Bronxville's Close Relationship with Tuckahoe

Trustee Behrens said that she and Trustee Underhill attended the Tuckahoe Trustee meeting. Bronxville has a close relationship with the village of Tuckahoe, including with the Village Board and police department. She also said that she and Trustee Underhill went to the Senior Citizens Council meeting and that this organization is "very vibrant" and has "tons of activities."

Auditors Report

Trustee Fredericks said that the Village had their annual meeting with the auditors and that there it will be an "A+" report.

The Village ran a substantial operating surplus of over $3.147 million. The revenue was up about $2 million, and a substantial portion of this was from higher village licensing and permitting fees, which are variable from year to year based on property improvement projects. There was also a positive variance ($66k) from sales taxes.

There were also savings in expenditures, primarily due to lower costs in public safety and DPW. Part of this savings is because there has been turnover from senior staff. The Village received an unqualified audit report. The Village also has the highest bond rating.

Trustee Fredericks also mentioned the Village Tree Planting Project. He said there is a subsidy program, and you can apply to have the Village put in a tree adjacent to your property in the Village right-of-way.

Trustee Behrens mentioned that the Village has a newsletter and urged that people sign up for it. It comes out monthly.

Village Administrator's Report

Village Administrator Jim Palmer said that he and the Board are grateful for the great team at Village Hall and at the DPW. The DPW finished leaf collection at the same time as they put up the holiday decorations. He reminded people that leaf blowers can only be used in specific time periods.

He said that the second half of the tax bill is due on December 31st.

He said the outdoor dining season just came to an end and will open up again at the end of April.

Public Comment

Concern About Proposed Lighting of the School Fields

A gentleman spoke about the proposed lights project. He noted that the proposed lighting would extend beyond the school campus. He asked the village to serve as "lead agency."

Mayor Marvin said that the Village has been working with counsel to try to understand the Village's correct role. The Village is following this issue closely and understands that the School is in an exploratory stage. She noted that there are impacts beyond the footprint of the School.

Another resident also spoke about her concern about the lights project.

Many other people also attended the meeting because they are concerned about the lights.

Holiday Lights & New Traffic Configuration

Another individual commented on the beauty of the trees and lights in the Village. She also complimented the Village on the work they did on the new traffic configurations in the village and the planning and work that went into these changes.

Village Election Day in 2025

The Mayor said the Village Election Day in 2025 will be March 18 from 6 am to 9 pm at Village Hall (district 16,17), Bronxville Fire House (district 18, 19, 21), and Christ Church (district 20, 22).

Other Items

Village Administrator Jim Palmer spoke about the sewer line project in the Village. Sewer lines are being improved in various areas throughout the Village, particularly in areas prone to flooding.

The DPW is purchasing new equipment, such as a "backhoe and claw" to pick up leaves. The Village is also replacing some trucks in the aging DPW fleet.

The Village is also purchasing some new computers.
