Concordia Conservatory Presents "The Spirit Society" on December 6 and 7, 2025

By Marilou Yacoub, Concordia Conservatory

Dec. 3, 2025: This weekend, the Bronxville School Auditorium will once again fill with music, color, and the warmth of community as Concordia Conservatory presents its 26th annual holiday musical, The Spirit Society. Performances take place Saturday, December 6 at 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM, and Sunday, December 7 at 3:00 PM.

A beloved tradition since 1999, the Conservatory’s holiday musical brings together families, students, alumni, educators, and neighbors for a shared celebration of creativity and seasonal spirit. This year’s production, written and composed by Joy Redmond and Greg Suss, follows Saint Nicholas as he unites a lively cast of holiday icons—from Cupid and the Easter Bunny to the Great Pumpkin and the Tooth Fairy—to preserve the joy and generosity that define holiday traditions.

At the heart of The Spirit Society is a message of unity: that celebrations are meaningful because they bring people together. The cast itself reflects this theme—it includes young performers from across Westchester, Fairfield County, and the Bronx, and is supported by a dedicated production team featuring Conservatory alumni, local educators, and student interns.

For more than two decades, Concordia Conservatory’s tuition-free holiday musical has been one of the region’s most impactful arts outreach programs, offering area youth the chance to participate regardless of financial circumstance or disability. More than 1,600 performers have taken the stage since the program began, and over 18,000 audience members have enjoyed the show.

“This musical brings our entire community together,” said Executive Director Kathleen Suss. “Each year, we see new families join longtime attendees in celebrating a story that highlights what the holidays are really about—hope, generosity, and connection.”

With its spirited storyline, charming characters, and meaningful message, The Spirit Society is the perfect way for families to welcome the holiday season. Performances often sell out, making early ticket purchase strongly encouraged.

Bronxville Public Library

The Bronxville Public Library traces its origins back to 1875, when it was a small lending library housed in a room attached to the “Bronxville Model School.” The Library was officially chartered in 1906 and moved into the Village Hall Building. The needs of the library grew with the town and, in 1942, a new standalone building was erected, which is where the Library is today. Over the years, the Library was renovated and expanded to meet the needs of the community.

The Library has wonderful resources for adults and children and offers a comfortable and relaxing environment. The Library also houses a fine art collection, consisting principally of Bronxville painters and sculptors.

The Library offers special events, art exhibitions, and programs for adults, young adults and children. All events are open to the public, unless otherwise indicated.
