Concordia Conservatory is Offering a New Adaptive Creative Arts Summer Program

By Marilou Yacoub

July 10, 2026: This summer, Concordia Conservatory is introducing a new Adaptive Creative Arts Summer Program, offering an enriching and inclusive arts experience for ages 6–18. The week-long camp will take place August 3–7 at the Conservatory's Bronxville campus.

Created specifically for neurodiverse individuals who thrive in an adaptive learning environment, the program provides a welcoming space where every participant is encouraged to explore their creativity, build confidence, make new friends, and celebrate their unique strengths.

Throughout the week, campers will engage in music, dance and movement, visual arts, and interactive creative activities, all thoughtfully designed to foster self-expression, communication, collaboration, and joy. Activities are tailored to meet individual needs while encouraging each student to discover new interests and abilities.

The program will be led by Nicole Mulet, Concordia Conservatory's Adaptive Music, Art & Movement Department Head, whose work has helped expand the Conservatory's inclusive programming throughout Westchester and Fairfield Counties. "We are thrilled to launch this new summer program," said Mulet. "Every child deserves the opportunity to experience the joy of creating, expressing themselves, and connecting with others through the arts. Our goal is to provide a nurturing environment where campers feel supported, inspired, and empowered to be themselves."

The Adaptive Creative Arts Summer Camp builds upon the success of Concordia Conservatory's year-round adaptive arts programming and its acclaimed UNIQUE Series, interactive sensory-friendly performances presented in partnership with Orchestra Lumos. The new camp represents the Conservatory's continued commitment to ensuring that high-quality arts experiences are accessible to individuals of all abilities.

"This new camp is an exciting addition to our summer offerings," said Kathleen Suss, Executive Director of Concordia Conservatory. "For nearly fifty years, Concordia Conservatory has believed that the arts have the power to transform lives. The Adaptive Creative Arts Summer Camp extends that mission by providing an environment where every child can experience the joy of artistic discovery while developing confidence, friendships, and a sense of belonging."

The Adaptive Creative Arts Summer Camp is part of Concordia Conservatory's Summer 2026 programs, which include early childhood classes, chamber music, musical theatre, songwriting & composition and rock/pop band. Registration is now open.

Bronxville Public Library
Bronxville Public Library

The Bronxville Public Library traces its origins back to 1875, when it was a small lending library housed in a room attached to the “Bronxville Model School.” The Library was officially chartered in 1906 and moved into the Village Hall Building. The needs of the library grew with the town and, in 1942, a new standalone building was erected, which is where the Library is today. Over the years, the Library was renovated and expanded to meet the needs of the community.

The Library has wonderful resources for adults and children and offers a comfortable and relaxing environment. The Library also houses a fine art collection, consisting principally of Bronxville painters and sculptors.

The Library offers special events, art exhibitions, and programs for adults, young adults and children. All events are open to the public, unless otherwise indicated.
