Oct. 30, 2019: Concordia Conservatory was featured on the Emmy-award winning, nationally syndicated television program Teen Kids News (TKN).

In the New York area, the program aired on WWOR-TV (Ch 9) on Monday, October 28, 2019. It is also available on the show’s YouTube channel.  Click here to see it.

With music and art programs often the first thing to be eliminated from school curricula due to budget cuts, more than a million students across the country can no longer study music in school. That’s why private programs that grant scholarships to study music are so important.

TKN’s report focuses on Concordia Conservatory student,Craig Murray, whose musical journey began at age nine and continues as he studies piano performance at Vanderbilt University Blair School of Music. Craig benefited from the Conservatory’s scholarship program, which strives to make music education available to everyone.

Teen Kids News reporter, Ava, attended Craig’s senior recital, where she had the opportunity to interview Craig and his mom, as well as other Conservatory students and faculty. Ava is a sophomore at Eastchester High School and has been a TKN reporter for three years.

Located on the Concordia College NY campus, with a second location in Stamford, CT, Concordia Conservatory prides itself on being a preeminent music education program. The Conservatory offers private instruction, chamber music ensembles, musical theatre, songwriting and composition, and much more. And with its Arts For Healing program, it provides music, dance/movement and art therapy to special needs clients of all ages throughout Westchester and Fairfield Counties.

Bronxville Public Library

The Bronxville Public Library traces its origins back to 1875, when it was a small lending library housed in a room attached to the “Bronxville Model School.” The Library was officially chartered in 1906 and moved into the Village Hall Building. The needs of the library grew with the town and, in 1942, a new standalone building was erected, which is where the Library is today. Over the years, the Library was renovated and expanded to meet the needs of the community.

The Library has wonderful resources for adults and children and offers a comfortable and relaxing environment. The Library also houses a fine art collection, consisting principally of Bronxville painters and sculptors.

The Library offers special events, art exhibitions, and programs for adults, young adults and children. All events are open to the public, unless otherwise indicated.
