The Bronxville football team improved its record to 3-0 with a 33-0 win over Byram Hills last Friday. The Broncos, who play in Class B this year, seem to be the team to beat as they are ranked No. 1 in Class B and No. 9 in the LoHud Power Rankings.
The offense has been dominant so far this season scoring 100 points in their first three games.
“Our offense comes down to our running backs such as myself and Brian Formato,” said Captain Davis Patterson. “Together we average well over 150 yards and 4 touchdowns a game. This is all due to the big guys that we have up front, led by senior captains Henry Frigon and Matthew McSherry.”
The Bronxville offense seems to be a well-oiled machine. In addition to the running backs and linemen, there are many other players who are key to the Bronco offense.
“We had to fill some new slots in our line and most importantly, our quarterback position,” said Patterson. “It is safe to say we found those guys. Our sophomore QB Theo McMurray fits in perfectly to our offense, keeping the defense on their toes due to his versatility in the pocket and ability to make big plays when needed. We are a run heavy team, but when we need to pass, we have our weapons available such as Walker Moore, Wyatt Gravier, and Will Mattson.”
The Bronxville defense has stepped up allowing only 14 points in the first two games and shutting out Byram Hills last weekend.
“We are a very physical team that doesn’t shy away from contact,” said Captain Jack Gangemi. “Our defensive line is tough and talented, rarely letting anyone get past them. But, if someone does, our secondary steps up ready for the challenge. This combination has been crucial to our success so far this season.”
The Broncos will play at Ardsley on Saturday at 1:30. The Panthers are 1-2 this season with a one-point win over Nanuet and losses to Pleasantville and Westlake. The football team’s next home game will be against Hendrik Hudson on Sunday, October 13th, at 1:30.

Their next home game will take place on Saturday at 2:00 against North Salem.
Boys’ Soccer

The team lost 1-0 to Dobbs Ferry last Wednesday and defeated Hastings 4-1 on Saturday.
