Oct. 5, 2026: “A community thrives when neighbors come together” was an especially fitting theme for the recent fundraiser honoring The Community Fund, hosted by the Senior Citizens Council of Bronxville and Tuckahoe.
On Sept. 23, more than 100 supporters gathered at Siwanoy Country Club to celebrate The Community Fund and recognize its more than 40 years of support for local senior citizens. Local mayors Mary Marvin of Bronxville and Cara Kronen of Tuckahoe were also in attendance, along with Community Fund President Chris Bush and his successor, John Atsalis. Local elected officials, including United States Representative George Latimer and Westchester County Legislators Judah Holstein and James Nolan, attended the event as well, showing their appreciation for the organization’s longstanding commitment to the community.
Both mayors spoke about the vital role the centers play in the community and expressed their gratitude to The Community Fund for its ongoing support, both past and present.
A proclamation by State Senator Shelley B. Mayer recognizing The Community Fund for outstanding community service was presented to Chris Bush by SCC Chairwoman Sarah Belair. Belair also thanked The Community Fund for its long support, highlighting the crucial role its
funding has played in both creating and maintaining the welcoming centers in Bronxville and Tuckahoe that provide local seniors opportunities to connect with others, stay active, build friendships and remain engaged in their communities.
The evening served as a celebration of a partnership that has helped strengthen the lives of local seniors for generations. It was a success due to the support of so many SCC friends, local Bronxville merchants, and merchants in our neighboring communities.
