Jan. 22, 2024: Il Sorrento, which offers fine Italian dining, is a welcome addition to Central Park Avenue. It is located at 706 Central Park Ave, Scarsdale. (914) 713-3133. www.ilsorrento.com. CLICK HERE to see the menu.
The restaurant is sleek, modern, and spacious, with high ceilings, black and beige raffia walls, comfortable banquettes, and tables adorned with white tablecloths. A large wooden room divider with wine bottles separates the main dining room into two separate dining areas.

The families of the two owners, Frank DiCola and Nick Hoti, have successfully operated restaurants in the NYC metropolitan area for 50 years.
Frank and his family believe that a successful restaurant is a simple formula - - "give people what they want.......Good Food, Good Service, and Good Value."
Our positive dining experience started with Tuna Tartar from "Appetizers," which included minced Ahi tuna in a lemon caper dijon sauce with arugula, avocado mousse, and toast points.
From "Pasta" on the menu, we enjoyed the Homemade Cavatelli with Broccoli Rabe and Sausage with lots of garlic. Other Pasta choices included Pappardelle Short Rib Ragu, Rigatoni Rustica, and Ravioli of the Day.
Our main course was Sole Oreganata from the "Seafood" section, which was excellent and included broiled lemon sole, topped with seasoned bread crumbs, served over spinach risotto. This entree was a creative and innovative example of "Napolitana Cuisine" from Joe Fusco, the Head Chef.
Our dessert was a decadent Tiramisu, one of the best I have ever eaten.
Il Sorrento's menu also includes Soup and Salad, Chicken and Veal, Steaks and Chops, and Sorrento Classics, including Linguine Frutti Di Mare and Sausage Pizzaiola.
The service was efficient and the wine selections were good.
