April 14, 2026: Lorraine A. Mohan, of Bronxville, New York, and formerly of Milford, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2026, with her loving family by her side.
Lorraine was born in Milford, Massachusetts, the daughter of the late James and Olga (Calderara) Mohan. She graduated from Milford High School, Class of 1972. She went on to attend Cornell University on scholarship, earning her bachelor’s degree in 1976 and her MBA in 1978. Lorraine maintained a lifelong connection to Cornell, generously mentoring young professional women, supporting and interviewing prospective students, and remaining a devoted fan of its athletic programs.
Following her graduation, Lorraine began her career at Chemical Bank, which ultimately became JPMorgan Chase. Over the course of two decades, she built a career in investment banking, rising to the role of Managing Director. In 1988, Lorraine married James Murray and moved to Bronxville where they made their home and built a life together.
In 1998, after the birth of her third child, Lorraine stepped away from her professional career to devote herself fully to her family—her greatest pride and joy. Together with Jim, she raised their three sons in Bronxville. Lorraine especially cherished traveling with her family, both to stay close with extended relatives and to experience new places together.
Lorraine was deeply engaged in the Bronxville community. She was a dedicated and enthusiastic supporter of her sons’ academic and athletic pursuits, a generous volunteer at the senior citizens center and other local organizations, and a loyal friend who cultivated lifelong relationships with other families in the community. Above all, Lorraine will be remembered for her warmth, strength, and deep love for life and for the people with whom she shared it.
Lorraine is survived by her husband, James; her three sons and their spouses, Christopher (Eleanor), Brian (Gabriela), and Andrew; her granddaughters, Wynn, Lulu, and Penelope; and her siblings, Marie, Donna, James, and John, and their extended families. She is predeceased by her sister, Olga.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to The Parkinson’s Foundation, in loving memory of Lorraine A. Mohan. http://www3.parkinson.org/goto/LorraineAMohan
The family will be having a wake for Lorraine at Fred H McGrath & Son Funeral Home in Bronxville on Thursday April 16th 2026 from 5-8 PM.
