By Kathleen Suss, Executive Director, Concordia Conservatory

March 19, 2026: Concordia Conservatory proudly concludes the 2025–26 season of its distinguished Hoch Chamber Music Series with Concert #3: Happy 250th Birthday, America, a vibrant and celebratory program honoring America’s 250th anniversary.

Tickets for Happy 250th Birthday, America are $50 for adults and $25 for seniors and children and may be purchased at www.concordiaconservatory.org or by calling 914-395-4507.

Performances will take place on Saturday, April 11 at 7:00 PM at The Reformed Church of Bronxville (180 Pondfield Road) and Sunday, April 12 at 3:00 PM at Second Congregational Church (139 E. Putnam Avenue).

In keeping with Concordia Conservatory’s mission to inspire, instruct, and enrich lives through music, offering excellence in education and performance, this final concert of the season pays tribute to America’s rich and diverse musical legacy through an extraordinary program of chamber works by iconic American composers.

The evening brings together an exceptional chamber ensemble of violinists Elizabeth Lim-Dutton, Stephanie Liu, Emanouil Manolov, Emily Kalish; violists Lawrence Dutton and Rachel Haber, cellists Sachi Patitucci, Jon Kim and bassist John Patitucci.

The all-American program opens with Aaron Copland’s Elegies for Violin and Viola, Leonard Bernstein’s Overture to Candide arranged for String Quintet, followed by the dramatic intensity of Bernard Herrmann’s Psycho Suite for String Quintet — a gripping homage to the golden age of American film music. Following intermission, the program culminates with a special highlight: the commissioned String Quintet “Omaggio for String Quintet and Guests” by internationally acclaimed bassist and composer John Patitucci. This newly commissioned work offers a contemporary reflection on American artistry, innovation, and musical evolution, bringing the evening to a powerful and celebratory close.

Tickets for Happy 250th Birthday, America are $50 for adults and $25 for seniors and children and may be purchased at www.concordiaconservatory.org or by calling 914-395-4507.

Artistic Director Lawrence Dutton continues to shape the Hoch Chamber Music Series as a beacon of artistic excellence, uniting world-class performers with thoughtful, thematically curated programs that resonate deeply with audiences.

Join Concordia Conservatory for this stirring finale — a musical celebration honoring America’s past, present, and future through the power and beauty of chamber music.

Bronxville Public Library
Bronxville Public Library

The Bronxville Public Library traces its origins back to 1875, when it was a small lending library housed in a room attached to the “Bronxville Model School.” The Library was officially chartered in 1906 and moved into the Village Hall Building. The needs of the library grew with the town and, in 1942, a new standalone building was erected, which is where the Library is today. Over the years, the Library was renovated and expanded to meet the needs of the community.

The Library has wonderful resources for adults and children and offers a comfortable and relaxing environment. The Library also houses a fine art collection, consisting principally of Bronxville painters and sculptors.

The Library offers special events, art exhibitions, and programs for adults, young adults and children. All events are open to the public, unless otherwise indicated.
