Nov. 6, 2024: Voters in the nation went to the polls yesterday and during early voting to cast their votes in the 2024 Election. 

Presidential Election

JD Vance and Donald Trump

Donald Trump and JD Vance were elected President and Vice President. The preliminary popular vote and electoral vote tallies as of November 6th at 10:45am are shown below

Donald Trump/JD Vance

Popular Vote: 71.4 million votes (51%)

Electoral Votes: 277

Kamala Harris/Tim Walz

Popular Vote: 66.47 million votes (47.5%)

Electoral Votes: 224

How Did Westchester Vote?

The majority of Westchester County voters cast votes for the Harris/Walz ticket (63%).

Below are the preliminary popular vote tallies for Westchester County.

Kamala Harris/Tim Walz: 273,472 (63%)

Trump/Vance: 160,138 (37%)

Note: The tallies for the Bronxvillle vote in the Presidential Election are not yet published.

Senate Election

Kirsten Gillibrand

In the US Senate Election, Kirsten D. Gillibrand (Dem. and Incumbent) was reelected with 65% of the vote (273,867 votes) over Michael D. Sapraicone (Rep) with 35% (147,501 votes) and Diane Sare (Larouche) with 1,754 votes.  

Congressional Election, District 16

George Latimer

In the US Congressional Election District 16, which includes Bronxville, George S. Latimer (Dem) prevailed with 70% of the vote (186,555 votes) over Miriam Levitt Flisser (Rep) with 30% of the vote (79,536 votes).

New York State Senate, District 37

Shelley B. Mayer

In the NY State Senate Election (District 37), Shelley B. Mayer (Rep. and incumbent) prevailed with 62% of the vote (86,509 votes) over Tricia S. Lindsay (Rep) with 38% of the vote (53,546 votes). 

New York State Assembly, District 88

Amy Paulin

For the NY State Assembly District 88, Amy Paulin (Dem. and incumbent) prevailed with 65% of the vote (42,766 votes) over Thomas H. Fix, Jr. (Rep) with 35% of the vote (22,832 votes). 

Westchester District Attorney

Susan Cacace

For Westchester District Attorney, Susan Cacace (Dem.) prevailed with 64% of the vote (256,599 votes) over John Sarcone, III with 36% of the vote (145,364 votes).

Bronxville Overview

Bronxville is a quaint village (one square mile) located just 16 miles north of midtown Manhattan (roughly 30 minutes on the train) and has a population of approximately 6,500. It is known as a premier community with an excellent public school (K-12) and easy access to Manhattan. Bronxville offers many amenities including an attractive business district, a hospital (Lawrence Hospital), public paddle and tennis courts, fine dining at local restaurants, two private country clubs and a community library.

While the earliest settlers of Bronxville date back to the first half of the 18th century, the history of the modern suburb of Bronxville began in 1890 when William Van Duzer Lawrence purchased a farm and commissioned the architect, William A. Bates, to design a planned community of houses for well-known artists and professionals that became a thriving art colony. This community, now called Lawrence Park, is listed on the National register of Historic Places and many of the homes still have artists’ studios. A neighborhood association within Lawrence Park called “The Hilltop Association” keeps this heritage alive with art shows and other events for neighbors.

Bronxville offers many charming neighborhoods as well as a variety of living options for residents including single family homes, town houses, cooperatives and condominiums. One of the chief benefits of living in “the village” is that your children can attend the Bronxville School.

The Bronxville postal zone (10708, known as “Bronxville PO”) includes the village of Bronxville as well as the Chester Heights section of Eastchester, parts of Tuckahoe and the Lawrence Park West, Cedar Knolls, Armour Villa and Longvale sections of Yonkers. Many of these areas have their own distinct character. For instance, the Armour Villa section has many historic homes and even has its own newsletter called “The Villa Voice” which reports on neighborhood news.
