Bronxville Non-Partisan Committee Seeks Candidates to Serve on Its Committee

By Tim Reidy, Member, Committee for the Non-Partisan Nomination and Election of School Trustees
Apr. 20, 2016: The Committee for the Non-Partisan Nomination and Election of School Trustees ("NPC") is seeking candidates for new members.
The NPC was formed in 1936 to foster the election of trustees of The Bronxville School on a non-partisan basis. The role of the committee is to solicit applications (or nominations) in the fall from residents who are interested in serving as a school trustee on the Bronxville Board of Education. After reviewing the applications and meeting with prospective candidates, the committee then nominates and supports a slate of candidates to run in the school district election in May.
The NPC has 21 members, three elected representatives from each of the village's seven voting districts who serve staggered three-year terms. Each spring, the NPC conducts elections via electronic ballot for the open seats in each district.
The NPC meets on most Tuesday nights at 7:30 pm from January through March to identify and review candidates for nomination as school board trustees. After the school board nominees have been selected in March, the committee meets through the beginning of June, as needed, to identify potential candidates for NPC membership.
Interested residents can have their names placed on the ballot by submitting an application by 5:00 pm on April 28, 2016.
Applications can be found on the website, www.bronxvillenpc.com. For more information on the NPC, please contact Jennifer Lescott or Steve Kraemer through
