Letter to the Community in Support of Rob Deichert for Village Trustee

March 11, 2026
Dear Friends and Neighbors,
We’d like to share why we’re supporting Rob Deichert in his independent campaign for Village Trustee on March 18. Rob is thoughtful, hard-working, and deeply committed to preserving what makes Bronxville special while ensuring the Village is well positioned for the years and decades ahead.
Many of us know Rob as a neighbor, fellow parent, or through Scouting, church, or youth sports. Some of us have known him even longer - fellow Bronxville lifers who grew up here alongside him. What we all agree on is that Rob is someone you can rely on. He is naturally curious, deeply analytical, and not afraid to dig into the details of complex issues involving research, finances, and logistics.
Rob has never been someone who stands on the sidelines waiting for others to solve problems. He has consistently stepped forward to serve in volunteer and leadership roles in the church, the Scouts, and on co-op and condominium boards.
When challenges arise, Rob has a reputation for diving deeper than most to fully understand the issue. While serving as treasurer at Gramatan Gardens, Rob helped address a failing shared sewer line dating back to the 1920s. Later, when similar warning signs appeared at Gramatan Court while he was serving on that board, he immediately recognized the pattern and pushed for additional investigation. That extra diligence uncovered a larger infrastructure issue originating from the building’s original construction - allowing the board to address it before it became far more serious and costly for residents.
Rob also helped lead the effort to prevent the relocation of cellular antennas from Lawrence Hospital to the Gramatan Court elevator tower, which would have placed antennas directly across from residents’ bedroom windows rather than safely elevated above surrounding buildings.
After growing up in Bronxville, Rob and his wife Diana chose to return here to raise their three boys so they could experience the same sense of community that shaped their own lives. Rob combines the perspective of someone who grew up here with the experience of someone who has spent his career solving complex operational and financial problems. He deeply appreciates Bronxville’s excellent schools, safety, walkability, and vibrant business district - qualities that are increasingly rare in many communities. He also understands that these strengths do not happen by accident. They require active civic engagement and thoughtful stewardship.
Rob is not interested in partisan politics. His focus is squarely on the practical work of keeping the Village running well: flood mitigation, school-village collaboration, protecting property values, supporting local businesses, maintaining infrastructure, and ensuring public safety. These are issues best addressed with independence, collaboration, and a willingness to work with everyone for the good of the Village.
Village Trustee is a volunteer position - truly a labor of love that requires many hours of meetings, preparation, and engagement with residents and Village organizations. Rob has already shown through his years of community involvement that he is willing to put in that work, and we are confident he will bring his strong work ethic, thoughtful judgment, and practical problem-solving approach to Village Hall.
We strongly encourage you to join us in voting for Rob Deichert for Village Trustee on Wednesday, March 18.
Sincerely,
Rosie Amodio
