Pet of the Week: Adorable Crueller

alt

By Allison Roesser

Apr. 22, 2020: Crueller is a 2-3-year-old, lovable Glen of Imaal terrier mix who is looking for her new best friend. There is so much sweetness packed into this 28-pound body, and you would be hard-pressed to find someone who didn't appreciate her gentle and playful ways.

Not every dog is fortunate enough to have an easy start to life. Crueller was found abandoned and starving along the side of the road in a small Texas town. Fortunately, she was spotted by a kind person who picked her up and delivered her to the safety of a rescue group. After a nice bath and a trip to the vet, Crueller was placed in a foster home where she is now safe and sound and ready for adoption.

Crueller only wants to be a part of a family. She will quietly follow you around the house and genuinely enjoys being at the heart of the action. She loves playing with kids and other dogs and would make a welcome addition to any home. She is well-mannered, crate trained, and almost completely housebroken.

Glen of Immal is a breed that originates from Ireland. They are intelligent and known for being more even-tempered, easygoing, and less vocal than other breeds of terriers. Typically, they are quick learners, who socialize easily and interact superbly with people, including children. Although they love activity, this breed is not demanding and actually more content just relaxing by their owner's side.

Originally they were bred to work in silence and eradicate animals such as foxes, rats, otters, and badgers. They were also used as general-purpose farm dogs, companion animals, and turnspit dogs whose job it was to turn the meat as it was cooking over the fire. Their history began during the reign of Elizabeth I and is now considered one of the rarest breeds.

Crueller is healthy, has been spayed, and is up to date with her vaccinations. For more information about her, please email MatchDog Rescue at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or visit matchdogrescue.org
