Nov. 26, 2025: The Broncos continue to move closer to playing in the NYS Championship with their 56-26 win over Chester/Seward this past Saturday. The Bronco offense has been unstoppable all season long, and in the last five games the team has scored an average of 52 points per game.
“Our offense is really just one unit piggybacking off of each other and using each other as fuel,” said quarterback Theo McMurray. “It all starts with our line, guys like Will Morrisroe, Troy Neild, Henry Scholes, Kieran O’Neil, and Anton Schmidt. Those guys start it and make Brian’s and my job very simple to get points on the board. And our receivers are great, constantly getting open either for a touchdown, or however many yards we need.”
The Bronxville offense wasted no time making an impact in the game against the Hambletonians. Brian Formato opened the Bronco scoring in the first minute with a 50-yard touchdown, and teammate Desi Heathwood followed with another just minutes later with a 34-yard catch. Formato added another touchdown before the end of the first quarter to bring the score to 21-0.
The Broncos went on to score 28 points in the second quarter with Thomas Freeman scoring first on a 26-yard pass. Formato followed with his third touchdown in the game-- and his 30th of the season-- on a 70-yard reception.
With 6:04 left in the second quarter, Chester got on the board with an 89-yard touchdown pass to James Musco, and a 2-point conversion brought the score to 35-8. Chester/Seward then punted a squib and recovered the ball, which ultimately led to a touchdown. Chester’s attempt at the 2-point conversion was intercepted by Bronxville’s Walker Moore.
Before the end of the first half, Freeman scored his second touchdown of the day, and Max Zabra followed with another, stretching the Broncos’ lead to 49-14 heading into halftime.
In the third quarter, McMurray scored on a 11-yard quarterback keeper bringing his game total to five passing touchdowns and one rushing touchdown. Bronxville’s Grant Patterson had the first interception in the game to end a drive by Chester/Seward.
The Hambletonians scored two more touchdowns in the fourth but failed to convert the extra points. Bronxville closed out a decisive 56-26 victory.

Bronxville (10-0) heads to the state semifinals to face Section 2's Schuylerville, the defending Class C Champion.
“The preparation this week is vital,” said McMurray. “Our energy needs to be constant with a good week of practice as well as watching film on our own and staying locked in all week. Like every week, it is just a football game that we need to execute our stuff to win.”
The Bronxville-Schuylerville state semifinal will take place at Middletown High School on Saturday at noon. In the other Class C semifinal, Chenango Forks will play Chautauqua Lake/Westfield/Brocton Football at Cicero-North Syracuse High School.
The Class C Championship game will take place on December 6th at the JMA Wireless Dome at Syracuse University at noon.
