Bronxville Varsity Boys Lacrosse Team Creates Partnership with Able Athletics Lacrosse

May 2, 2024: On Sunday, April 28, 2024, Able Athletics hosted the second session of its inaugural youth wheelchair lacrosse season. The Bronxville Varsity Boys Lacrosse Team volunteered at the event, which took place at at Rippowam Cisqua High School.
Able Athletics was founded by Vanessa Dias and her sons, Rowan and Christian, inspired by their sister who has different abilities This non-profit organization is committed to creating an inclusive environment for children of all abilities by educating volunteers on respectful engagement and actively addressing the challenges faced by those with learning, attention, physical, and intellectual differences. Through its adaptive sports programs, Able Athletics fosters social integration, skill development, and a strong sense of belonging.
Declan Denning, the Bronxville Able Athletics Ambassador, worked alongside Vanessa Dias and Joe Haven, Bronxville Athletic Director and Bronxville Varsity Boys Lacrosse Head Coach, to establish this partnership between Able Athletics and Bronxville Lacrosse.
"Seeing the Bronxville Boys Varsity Lacrosse Team in action, offering their support, really embodies the spirit of community and inclusivity we aim to foster at Able Athletics. Their participation and the awareness raised by Declan Denning, a member of the team, have been crucial in making this inaugural youth wheelchair lacrosse season a success. It's more than just a game; it's about building understanding and shaping a community where everyone belongs and thrives together,” stated Mrs. Dias.
