Oct. 28, 2026: The Bronxville girls' varsity soccer team celebrated Senior Day on Monday, October 19, with a 1-0 victory over Dobbs Ferry, honoring nine seniors who have contributed to the team's success both on and off the field. The Broncos recognized senior captains Mabel Arrighi, Sabrina Belke, Lily Delaney and Grace Van Tienhoven, along with fellow seniors Mary Donohue, Molly McBrien, Mackenzie O'Gorman, Maria Overby and Sophia Zanettos.
The seniors made their mark on the game, with Maria Overby scoring the winning goal and goalkeeper Lily Delaney recording her seventh clean sheet of the season. While Senior Day was an opportunity to celebrate the team's accomplishments on the field, another recent game offered a reminder of the friendships and sportsmanship that make high school athletics so special.
Following a recent Saturday varsity soccer game between Bronxville and Scarsdale, players from both teams came together for a moment that captured the best of high school sports.
Putting competition aside, the Bronxville girls invited their Scarsdale opponents to join them after the game for cupcakes and cookies to celebrate the birthday of one of their Bronxville seniors. The players gathered for a group photo, sharing smiles and laughter in a spontaneous display of friendship and goodwill.

At a time when competitive youth sports can place so much emphasis on winning, these young women demonstrated that mutual respect, kindness and good sportsmanship still matter. It was a fitting reminder that while victories and individual accomplishments deserve to be celebrated, some of the most meaningful moments in sports aren't reflected on the scoreboard.
