Farmers’ Market Open Saturday Mornings
We are so excited to unfurl our white tents at the Bronxville Farmers’ Market at the corner of Stone Place and Paxton Ave this Saturday and get our market season under way. Come meet the new vendors: Breezy Hill Orchards with their organic apples, artisanal pasta, cider doughnuts and yes, hard cider; Stone & Thistle Farm with their tender meats and chicken and goat dairy products; Sun Sprout Farm with their gorgeous produce grown, organically, in the rich black dirt in Chester, NY. Plus: pillowy pretzels from Bronx Baking Co. and miche bread and baguettes from Bien Cuit Bakery in Brooklyn that rivals any top-tier boulangerie in France. Of course, most of your favorite vendors are returning (Dobbs & Bishop Fine Cheese, What's for Dessert?, Custom Cold Brew, Doc Pickle, The Orchards of Concklin, and many more). While you're there, extend a warm welcome to new market director Pascale Le Draoulec and market manager Natalie Rivera. Looking forward to seeing you all at the market on Saturday--including Mary Liz, whom we hope will be a regular shopper. Hours: 8:30 am to 1:00 pm. Rain or shine.
The Buzz
I had a great meeting with the Bronxville Diner team and am pleased to share that they expect to open in June. The menu will be similar to that of their other locations, and the hours will accommodate both early risers and night owls. Stay tuned!
The Cobbler Shop closed its store on Palmer Ave. The good news is that Ladle of Love, with a location in Mount Kisco, will be taking its place! They’re also hoping for a June opening.
Great news--the Village of Bronxville has agreed to reduce the duration of evening parking-meter enforcement. Last year, the village announced that meters would be enforced till 9:00 pm. To the credit of our officials, they recognize that that was not well received and will enforce meters only until 7:00 pm going forward.
