September 15, 2021, Women and Money, 1 p.m.  This is a zoom event in partnership with the Bronxville Library and other libraries.  Click here for more information.

September 18, 2021, 9AM - 1PM: Reformed Church Bronxville Jewelry & Christmas Decorations Sale.  Entrance at the corner of Midland and Kraft Avenues.  The Reformed Church is located at 180 Pondfield Road in Bronxville.

September 19, 2021: Join Christ Church Bronxville on Sunday, September 19th for Homecoming Sunday as we celebrate the beginning of an exciting year of worship, special events, and ministry at Christ Church! All in the community are welcome. 
-Ministry Fair - Looking for meaningful ways to get involved within the Bronxville community? Come learn about opportunities with our many CCBNY ministries. Visit our tables. Talk with ministry members firsthand. Explore opportunities for growth. Re-engage with our community in Christ. The fair will be held in the church courtyard (Sagamore Road entrance) directly following the 10:00am service.
-Blessing of the Backpacks - During the 10:00am service we will honor and bless our children at the beginning of another academic year. The congregation will pray for our children and bless their backpacks - don’t forget to bring yours!
-Welcome Back Coffee Hour - Directly after the 10:00am service, we will have coffee hour outside in the arcade (Sagamore Road entrance). We invite all in our community to come grab a cup of coffee and to stay for friendship and fellowship!

October 1, 2021: The Counseling Center extends a warm invitation to Oktoberfest, its Annual Appeal and Benefit, to be held at the Bronxville Field Club from 6-8 p.m.  Under a spacious outdoor tent, guests will enjoy cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, and will have the chance to participate in several raffles. Proceeds will support The Counseling Center, a non-profit organization, in particular its fee subsidy program, which allows its professional staff to offer critical services, including psychotherapy, marriage counseling, and family and child therapy, to those who are unable to afford full-fee treatment.

Bronxville Overview

Bronxville is a quaint village (one square mile) located just 16 miles north of midtown Manhattan (roughly 30 minutes on the train) and has a population of approximately 6,500. It is known as a premier community with an excellent public school (K-12) and easy access to Manhattan. Bronxville offers many amenities including an attractive business district, a hospital (Lawrence Hospital), public paddle and tennis courts, fine dining at local restaurants, two private country clubs and a community library.

While the earliest settlers of Bronxville date back to the first half of the 18th century, the history of the modern suburb of Bronxville began in 1890 when William Van Duzer Lawrence purchased a farm and commissioned the architect, William A. Bates, to design a planned community of houses for well-known artists and professionals that became a thriving art colony. This community, now called Lawrence Park, is listed on the National register of Historic Places and many of the homes still have artists’ studios. A neighborhood association within Lawrence Park called “The Hilltop Association” keeps this heritage alive with art shows and other events for neighbors.

Bronxville offers many charming neighborhoods as well as a variety of living options for residents including single family homes, town houses, cooperatives and condominiums. One of the chief benefits of living in “the village” is that your children can attend the Bronxville School.

The Bronxville postal zone (10708, known as “Bronxville PO”) includes the village of Bronxville as well as the Chester Heights section of Eastchester, parts of Tuckahoe and the Lawrence Park West, Cedar Knolls, Armour Villa and Longvale sections of Yonkers. Many of these areas have their own distinct character. For instance, the Armour Villa section has many historic homes and even has its own newsletter called “The Villa Voice” which reports on neighborhood news.
