Mar. 25, 2015: I started my specialty food shop journey at Chantilly Patisserie, conveniently located across from the Metro-North train station, with the owner Mariana Gambini, who told me that the shop is family owned and has been open for four years now. As soon as you walk in, the feel and smell of this divine shop transport you to France. 

For breakfast you can choose from delicious scones (blueberry, cranberry/orange, or double chocolate) at $3.75 each. I do miss the ham and cheddar, which unfortunately has been discontinued. There are mini scone bites ($.50 each) or mini Danish bites ($.25 each). After our Zumba class, around the corner at Bronxville Fitness Club, a few of us have one of these small treats after exercising.

There are fresh muffins (pumpkin spice, banana nut, carrot raisin nut, whole wheat raisin, and mixed berry) at $3.75 each. Authentic croissants come in plain, almond, dulce de leche, chocolate, and prosciutto and cheese with toasted sesame seeds and apricot glaze ($3.75 to $4.75).

For lunch you can pick up a slice of creamy spinach, roasted vegetable, or cheese and broccoli quiche for $2.50 a slice. There are lots of assorted cookies to choose from at $.75 each, and their assorted flavored macaroons are scrumptious at $1.75 each.

At dinner pick up a large fruit tart (6 to 8 slices) for $24; an individual one for two is $6.50, and a mini tart is $2.00. Cakes range from three inches to sixteen inches and can serve anywhere from two people to hundreds. Prices vary depending on design and flavors. Cupcakes are $2.00 for mini or $3.50 for regular.

Their baguettes are to die for--plain, parmesan pepper, rosemary olive, or whole wheat for $4.00 for a large or $2.00 for a small. Make sure you heat them up and serve them with butter.

Birthday parties are available and are held in the kitchen downstairs. Prices start at $360 per package and this includes a minimum of eight children. They allow a maximum of fifteen, priced at $30 for each extra guest. The cupcake-decorating party is the most popular, but you can also choose from cookie or cake decorating, French macaroon class, cookie baking, and more! BON APPETIT!
