Eight Squash Players from Bronxville Competed in the College Squash Association Divisional Team Championships

March 6, 2025: Eight college squash players from Bronxville traveled with their teams this past weekend to Philadelphia to compete in the 2025 College Squash Association Divisional Team Championships.
The players were Charlie Clifford (Middlebury College), Katie Hennessy (Georgetown University), Scarlett Hine (Bates College), Gabrielle El-Masry (Dickinson College), Tate Burgin and Gainsley Korengold (Hamilton College), Robby Cruikshank (Fordham University), and Peter Vorbach (Hobart College).
A total of 41 teams (over 360 players) competed in the tournament.
Hoehn & Kurtz Cups
The following teams with Bronxville players competed in the top division of the Tournament: Middlebury men (Hoehn Cup), and Georgetown, Bates, and Dickinson women (Kurtz Cup).
Men (Hoehn Cup)
The Middlebury men's team came into the tournament as the 7th seed and ended up upsetting the second seed, University of Rochester, in the first round and ultimately finishing 4th, which was an outstanding performance. Bronxville player and Middlebury sophomore Charlie Clifford went undefeated in the tournament.

Women (Kurtz Cup)
The Georgetown women's team, which includes junior Katie Hennessy, won the women's tournament for the second year in a row, becoming the 2025 CSA Women's Divisional Team Champions. Along the way, the team defeated Dickinson College, Williams College and Amherst College.

The Bates women's team, which includes freshman Scarlett Hine, finished 7/8 in the tournament, which was consistent with their seeding. Hine played in the #3 position for the team and played impressive squash in all her matches.
The Dickinson women's team, which includes freshman Gabi El-Masry, faced ultimate winner Georgetown in the first round and then narrowly lost 5-4 to Colby in the consolation. The team also finished 7/8 in the tournament. El-Masry had hard-fought and well-played matches.

Summers & Walker Cups
The Hamilton men's and women's teams competed in second division of the tournament in the Summers Cup (Men) and Walker Cup (women).
Men (Summers Cup)
The Hamilton men's team, which includes senior Tate Burgin, lost to Chatham University in the first round. They then defeated Connecticut College in the consolation, with Tate winning his match 3-1. The team lost a very close 5-4 match to Dickinson College in the consolation finals and finished 6th overall. Tate went undefeated in the tournament.

Women (Walker Cup)
The Hamilton women's team includes senior Gainsley Korengold, who played in the #2 position for the team. Hamilton faced two strong teams in the tournament - Chatham University and Haverford College - and lost hard-fought matches. Hamilton ultimately finished 7/8 in the tournament.

Conroy Cup
The Hobart men's team, which includes sophomore Peter Vorbach, competed in the third division of the tournament (Conroy Cup) and ultimately finished 3rd. Peter played outstanding squash throughout the weekend.

The Fordham men's team, which includes senior Robby Cruikshank, also competed in the Conroy Cup and ultimately finished 5th. Robby won his final match 3-1. It was a great way to finish an impressive college career.
