Chamber Chatter for June 1: Hope to See You at the Bronxville Sidewalk Sale June 3 and 4

June 1, 2011: Happy Memorial Day to all! This kickoff to the summer season is always one of Bronxville's best moments. There has been so much to do this weekend, and your local merchants have played a big part in all of the events.
Check out the list of sponsors for the Memorial Day festivities: Bronxville-Ley Real Estate, Dobbs & Bishop Fine Cheese, People's United Bank, Station Plaza Wine & Spirits, and Topps Bakery. There is only one way to thank a generous sponsor, and that is to patronize them! Please remember that it is our Bronxville businesses that make the fun events in our town possible, and thank them by shopping local!
Last week, the Chamber sponsored a presentation by Eben Thurston of Spring Marketing Strategies on "Search Engine Placement Strategies and Social Networking for Small Businesses." It was a great presentation on a topic that is important for every small business. Thank you, Eben!
The spring sale at Toney Toni and the Gang is in full swing. Stop in and pick up some great bargains on some great fashions!
Do you have a summer home in the North Fork, the Adirondacks, the Hamptons, or on Fire Island? Station Plaza Wine & Spirits is offering free shipping to your summer home! Call 914-337-0631 or email
This week, Citrine began its summer schedule. The store will be open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 11 am to 4 pm, on Thursdays from 11 am to 7 pm (new extended hours!), and on Saturdays from 10 am to 5 pm. They are available at other times by appointment. Citrine makes your summer jewelry shopping more convenient than ever!
Well, the rumors are true: John Byrne is back! Scarborough Fair Express will open this summer at 82 Kraft Avenue alongside another Bronxville returnee, Kensington Paper. What a great party-planning spot this will be--choose your invitations and menu in one location!
Westchester Home Magazine has asked Patricia O'Shaughnessy Design to contribute to its 2nd Annual "Best of Everything" issue. This is the summer issue and will hit the newsstands on June 1st. In the magazine, Patricia suggests a few things that will be "HOT" this summer season in home design. This is Patricia's third highlight in the magazine, so she clearly has developed a following! Congratulations!
The Bereavement Center of Westchester will host "BLISS" this Friday, June 3, 2011, from 6 to 9 pm. Visit Nick DeVincenzo and his stylists at Continental 109 at 109 Pondfield Road and support this extremely worthwhile local center. The price is $150 for adults and $75 for young adults. Other participants are Balance Massage and Wellness, Maison Rouge, Dobbs & Bishop Fine Cheese, Station Plaza Wine & Spirits, and Underhills Crossing, which will donate 10% of your check to the BCW. In addition to the evening event, shop at J.McLaughlin, Mano a Mano, and The Silk Road in Bronxville on Friday, June 3, and the stores will donate 10% of your purchase amount to the BCW.
