Weathering the Weather
Provisions for Pets carries "walk safe" ice melt. It is safe for your pets, your lawn, shrubs, and vegetation, and your walkway. Be careful of the many other ice melts that claim they are safer than salt. Many are made with magnesium sulfate, which can be toxic to your pets if ingested (paw-licking). Magnesium toxicity results when the body absorbs more magnesium than can it excrete. Symptoms include fall in blood pressure, confusion, abnormal cardiac rhythm, and deterioration of kidney function. 110 Kraft Ave.
Is your car looking nasty after all the snow? Pop over to Tuckahoe Car Wash for a makeover at 8 Marbledale Rd. 914-961-9739.
Pipes burst? Hope not, but if they do, Anthony Pici Plumbing & Heating Inc--which is accredited by the Better Business Bureau--can be called upon for repairs (914-376-7300), and Servpro of Scarsdale / Mount Vernon (914-699-5181) is your go-to source for the cleanup. They do the grunt work to bail you out!
Flu Season peaks in January and February. It's not too late to protect yourself and your family with a flu shot at Value Drugs ($24.99).
Did You Know…?
People’s United Bank on Kraft Ave has a drive-through window--which sure comes in handy in weather like this!
