Chamber Chatter for the Week of June 11, 2014

Jun. 11, 2014: Recap: Bronxville Spring Sidewalk Sale and Street Fair
The Bronxville Spring Sidewalk Sale and Street Fair was a great success! We were lucky to have two days of perfect weather and a great turnout.
These community events cost us money, and we couldn't execute them without the support of our generous sponsors. The entertainment (which featured, among others, the Concordia Conservatory rock bands) was sponsored by Citrine. The free eco-friendly bags that we gave out to shoppers were sponsored by Houlihan Lawrence Real Estate, James Van Metter Wealth Management, and Joseph F. Manzi, DDS, and included inserts from BeFit Westchester, Besson Oil, Blue Moon Mexican Café, Gramatan Village, Fabio's Hair Studio, Joan Iacono, The Junior League of Bronxville, Lyte Body Fitness, People's United Bank, and Spruce Home and Garden.
As a boost to the Chamber's e-newsletter subscribers, we ran a raffle as an added incentive to sign up (not that anyone should need an incentive!!) with prizes generously donated by Adrian East, Bow Tie Cinemas, Fabio's Hair Studio, Lyte Body Fitness, and SoulCycle.
Thanks also go out to Bob Krause of Mrs. Morgan's Flower Shop for always doing a ton of legwork to produce these events--booking the entertainment, retrieving and setting up the tables and chairs, providing the sound system and staging, and more.
This event would truly not be possible without the Village of Bronxville, which we thank for allowing us to have this event, donating the free-parking provisions, closing off Park Place, hanging our banners, cleaning up after us, etc.
It should also be noted that the Chamber does our own purchasing through our members. We rented the tables and chairs from County Chair Party Rental, the signage and advertising graphics were done by Rosemary Campion of Blackbird Creative Services, reproduction of the shopper's directory was done at The UPS Store, and our supplies are purchased at Bronxville Stationers, Value Drugs, and the A&P.
Last but not least, it takes a village, and we're lucky to have had volunteers to help man the Chamber booth over the two-day event. A huge shout-out goes to People's United Bank for loaning us three of their associates for a whopping total of about 10 hours, to Paul Ranieri of D.C. Ranieri Insurance Agency, local college student Michael Imperiale, Mikaela and Katie from Tuckahoe Middle School for face painting, and the Bronxville High School Life Skills group for collating the bags, distributing flyers, running errands, and a ton more.
