Written by Susan Miele, Executive Director, Bronxville Chamber of Commerce

Oct. 15, 2014: This Weekend!
The weekend of October 17-19 will be a big one for Bronxville! We've got the fall sidewalk sale happening on Friday and Saturday and the children's Halloween festival on Sunday! Mark your calendars and tell your friends!
"Bronxville is piling on the reasons to stay local this weekend," said Bronxville Chamber of Commerce executive director Susan Miele. "Adults get to have their fun at the shopping event; then the kids get to have their own fun at the festival."
• Bronxville Fall Sidewalk Sale: The Bronxville Fall Sidewalk Sale takes place rain or shine on Friday, October 17, and Saturday, October 18, with bargains galore throughout the village. Many stores, businesses, and organizations participate, offering deep discounts on merchandise, special offers on services like hair styling and fitness, dining deals, trunk shows--even a special rate on investment CDs. From clothing to books, running shoes to home furnishings, fine jewelry to Mexican food, Illy espresso makers to toys--there truly is something for everyone. Many businesses also offer complimentary refreshments and freebies.
On Saturday, October 18, free parking is offered in the Garden Avenue lot and the Kraft Avenue lot, compliments of the Village of Bronxville (meters in effect elsewhere). Hours by participating business vary.
The Bronxville Chamber of Commerce will have a table set up both days at 66 Pondfield Road, with raffles and giveaways. Visitors are encouraged to stop by to pick up a shopper's directory and free eco-friendly tote bags--sponsored by Houlihan Lawrence Real Estate, Joseph F. Manzi, DDS, and Blue Moon Mexican Café--that include giveaways from local businesses. Those who sign up for the Bronxville Chamber of Commerce's e-newsletter can be entered in a raffle for a chance to win great prizes generously donated by Blow & Beyond, Pure Barre, Lyte Body Fitness, Fabio's Hair Studio, and the new Coals in Bronxville. The sidewalk sale is sponsored by Citrine, a fine jewelry store at 22 Park Place.
• Bronxville Children's Halloween Festival: The Bronxville Children's Halloween Festival, a highlight for children for more than a dozen years, is scheduled for Sunday, October 19 (rain date: October 26), from noon to 4:00 pm. Leonard Morange Square, in the Metro-North Railroad Station along Parkway Road in Bronxville, is transformed into a country-style oasis for kids, with carnival rides, pony rides, live music, food, activities, and more. Children are encouraged to come in costume and can expect festive, delicious treats and a fun time.
A highlight for both girls and boys is the Fabio's Hair Studio tent, which offers fun children's hairstyles (up-dos and/or colored hair spray and sparkles) and makeup for $5.
Event sponsors are New York-Presbyterian/Lawrence Hospital (pony rides); Gold-Level Sponsors are People's United Bank and Apple Bank for Savings; and Silver-Level Sponsors are The Junior League of Bronxville, Green Mountain Energy, Trustco Bank, Servpro of Scarsdale/Mount Vernon, EMLJ, and Stanley Stern / Stern Park, LLC.
