Jun. 24, 2015:  Bronxville's Recent Sidewalk Sale and Street Fair

The sidewalk sale and street fair in early June were a great success! Both days were teeming with locals and visitors, the entertainment was great, and the weather managed to cooperate. 

More than 60 businesses participated in the festivities, not only with sales and specials but also some creative twists like free chair massages, raffles--even an accordion player

It takes a village, so many thanks are owed:

  • Workers:  Bob Krause of Mrs. Morgan's Flower Shop, as always, was instrumental in executing the street fair. He picks up and drops off all the tables and chairs; coordinates the band; sets up and breaks down the staging, seating, sound, and lighting; closes/opens the street; etc. As always, Michele MacMillan of Paws and Play Pet Resort was on hand to assist with the logistics. Bronxville DPW hung our banners, posted parking notices, placed additional receptacles, and cleaned up after us.

  • Sponsors:  Citrine for sponsoring the entertainment; Joseph F. Manzi, DDS, Dalila Namy of State Farm, and NewYork-Presbyterian/Lawrence Hospital for sponsoring the bag giveaways; and The Bronxville Women's Club, Bronxville Wellness Sanctuary, Blue Moon Mexican Cafe, Bronxville Acupuncture, NewYork-Presbyterian/Lawrence Hospital, Papyrus, Fabio's Hair Studio, A'Mangiare, Lange's Deli, Kevin Chin Golf, State Farm/Dalila Namy, and The Chapel School for sponsoring bag inserts. A special shout-out goes to the flower shop of Tryforos & Pernice for sending in an unsolicited donation to the chamber to help offset the costs of the event.

  • Prize Donors:  Fabio's Hair Studio, Candy Rox, Lyte Body Fitness, Bronxville Farmers' Market, and Paws and Play Pet Resort all donated raffle prizes as incentives to get people to sign up for the chamber's e-newsletter (which benefits all members).

  • Volunteers:  The team at People's United Bank, Fran Smith of Hunt Woods Manor Design, LLC, Roger Petho of Lyte Body Fitness, Paul Ranieri of D.C. Ranieri Insurance Agency, and Lou Maggiotto of Nobile, Magarian & DiSalvo for manning the chamber's table at the two-day event.

  • The Bronxville Chamber of Commerce BUYS LOCAL! For the sidewalk sale, we turned to Blackbird Creative Services for the posters, County Chair Party Rental for the tables and chairs, The UPS Store for duplicating our shoppers' directories, and The Nella Company for the bags we gave away!
