Give Thanks in Bronxville
One thing I'm thankful for is that there's been an increased awareness in the community of the importance of buying local. Let's continue this trend and strive to do even better--especially as we head into the holiday season.
Patronize their businesses. Recommend them to others. How tempting it is, sometimes, to seek out these businesses when in need of a favor and then spend money elsewhere to save time or a few pennies. Bronxville businesses support the community. We need to sustain them. Please give them your business.
This Thanksgiving, let's be thankful that we live and work in Bronxville.
Shop for your Thanksgiving delicacies at The Bronxville Farmer's Market. The final market of the season will be on Saturday, November 19, between 8:30 am and 1:00 pm. Stone Place at Paxton Ave.
Mini's Prime Meats & Specialties has posted its Thanksgiving menu offering, not only the bird, but hors d'oeuvres, sides, pastas, and more. Alternatives to turkey include ham, goose, duck, and a long list of other entrees, and novel starters include filet mignon wrapped in bacon, mushroom risotto cakes, and edamame wontons. Stop in at 15 Park Place or call 914-779-1948.
Place your Thanksgiving order with Stillmeadow Gourmet. In addition to traditional offerings, examples of the less familiar include kale and quinoa salad, cranberry baked brie, and butternut squash soup. Pies are also available, as are "sandwich fixings" for the next day. All meats are hormone-, steroid-, and antibiotic-free.
Underhills Crossing will be open on Thanksgiving for dinner at your place or theirs. Thanksgiving Eve will be an event at the restaurant featuring live piano music and speakeasy cocktails. 74.5 Pondfield Road.
