May 20, 2020: The Bronxville Chamber of Commerce and the Bronxville Women’s Club joined forces to support local merchants.
On Tuesday, May 5, just in time for Mother's Day, the two organizations held a virtual Zoom shopping event with Bronxville's retailers showcasing "ideas for the perfect Mother's Day gift."
Nearly 120 registrants attended while shop-keepers live-streamed from their stores.
Participating shops included Posh Beauty Boutique, J. McLaughlin, Mossy Fern, Bronxville Wellness Sanctuary, The Silk Road, Toney Toni and the Gang, Maison Rouge, Tryforos & Pernice Florists, and Candy Rox.

Event organizer, Ellen Hunt, said, "we're all adapting to the current shopping environment, and supporting our local merchants in the best possible way. I've gotten some terrific feedback about the event."
Shoppers were also invited to mention the virtual shopping event at the time of their purchase to be entered into a special drawing for a gift basket brimming with items from the participating shops. Scores of generous buyers entered the raffle.

On Thursday, May 14, Bronxville Mayor Mary Marvin, Bronxville Women's Club President Mary Westmoreland, Women's Club Vice President for Communications Ellen Hunt, and Bronxville Chamber of Commerce President Leah Caro met at the corner of Park Place and Pondfield Road to pick a winner while observing appropriate social distancing.

Mayor Marvin announced that local resident, Deryn Darcy was the winner of the fabulous raffle basket. "What a wonderful way to bring our community together," said Marvin.
Our residents and our commercial district have such strong ties, and we look forward to bringing more opportunities for cooperation."
The Bronxville Women's Club, the Bronxville Chamber of Commerce, and the Bronxville Village government have several new initiatives slated for this Spring/Summer and will announce them shortly.
