Leia is a real gem when it comes to training, especially when treats are involved. She delights in splashing around in a kiddie pool and loves embarking on “sniffaris”—where she proves to walk like a dream on leash (she’s housetrained!).

Leia even keeps pace with her favorite SPCA staff member during lunchtime runs! While she has boundless energy for adventures, she also knows how to relax, often flopping over for belly rubs and nuzzling her favorite people.

Though the shelter environment can be a bit overwhelming for Leia, she’s hopeful for the day she’ll be a cherished part of an active, loving home. Leia would thrive as the only pet, soaking up all your affection and attention. Despite her friendly and intelligent nature, she’s been waiting for adoption for over a year, which is a mystery to her SPCA friends.

Could Leia be the missing piece to your family? Visit SPCA Westchester to meet her and speak with an adoption counselor—no appointment necessary! Open for adoptions 12-4 PM 7 days a week, 12-6 PM Thursday and Friday
