Letter to the Community from Vanessa O'Friel, Candidate for Village Trustee

March 12, 2025
Dear fellow residents of Bronxville,
I am excited to share with you that I am running for election to the position of Village Trustee.
I am a dedicated mom to four amazing children who have all attended the Bronxville School. I am also a current small business owner in the Village. I am deeply committed to serving the Village of Bronxville, where my family lives and where I work. I have greatly enjoyed dedicating my time over the past 11 years in Bronxville to volunteering in different capacities, from the Non-Partisan Committee, the FOBPL, the PTA, and The Community Fund. I currently serve as the President of the Bronxville Chamber of Commerce, where I continue to learn ways we as a community can support long-standing and new businesses.
I am ready to roll up my sleeves and help envision more safe streets improvements. I am so impressed with the care and dedication it took to make the crosswalk on Route 22 a reality. I will work to advocate for notice to be given to homeowners when new projects affect their properties.
As a Trustee, I would be involved in the ongoing issues that face the Village such as important facility improvements, crucial infrastructure needs including storm and sewer line maintenance and sustainability and environmental initiatives such as the Village Climate Action Task Force. Looking forward, flood mitigation remains one of the most important issues and is a top priority. I will add a fresh perspective and energy to these projects, and I am keen to work with elected officials across all levels of government to secure funding and grants for future projects.
If elected to the position of Village Trustee, my commitment to the community is to ALWAYS be open to new ideas, to work collaboratively and with transparency. Our hard-working Village residents deserve representatives who are forward thinking and who will balance innovative solutions alongside the traditions that embody our wonderful Village.
It would be my sincere privilege to serve the Village of Bronxville alongside the current Trustees who have worked tirelessly to bring ongoing improvements to the Village.
Please join me and the undersigned Village residents in voting on March 18 for vision and experience!
Sincerely,
Vanessa O’Friel
