Bronxville School Heart Club Hosts Fair Focused on Wellness, Mindfulness, and Community Connection

Organized by the High School HEART Club under the direction of Ms. Gillian McGovern and assisted by Ms. Lauren Keschner, the event featured a variety of interactive stations offering students opportunities to explore mental and physical health topics in fun and meaningful ways. Highlights included therapy dogs, yoga breathing sessions, and creative outlets such as rock painting, bracelet making, and mural art. Students also took part in wellness challenges, including a push-up contest and the popular inflatable slide and obstacle course.
Representatives from several local organizations joined the event, including The Harris Project’s CODA (Co-Occurring Disorders Awareness) initiative, Root and Vine, Recover Sports Hydration, One Love, NewYork-Presbyterian Westchester Behavioral Health, and the Bronxville Counseling Center. Each provided valuable resources and information about maintaining healthy lifestyles and supporting mental well-being.
The Health Fair was made possible through the generous support of the Bronxville PTA’s B*Well Committee, which serves the K–12 community by promoting education and awareness around social development, mental health, technology, and substance use. Their partnership helped fund and enhance the event experience for students.
The event was a huge success, with students enthusiastically participating and already expressing excitement for its return next year. A special thank-you to the Bronxville PTA, local organizations, volunteers, and staff whose support helped make the day possible.
