Yesterday's Snowstorm Turns Bronxville into Winter Wonderland; See Photos; Bronxville School to Open at 10:00 AM Today
Jan. 22, 2014: First came the announcement Monday night that The Bronxville School would close early on Tuesday because of the impending snowstorm--11:30 am for the elementary school, noon for the middle school and high school. Other Bronxville schools announced early closures, too. Then Tuesday morning came the Bronxville Village eAlert: "Bronxville Village Hall will close at 12:00 PM Tuesday 1/21/14. Parking enforcement will be suspended as of 12:00 PM. . . . Permission for overnight parking on village streets will not be granted this evening to facilitate snow removal."
Then came the heavy snow. It continued into the afternoon and evening, piling snow on the village and surrounding communities at a rapid rate. Since it started earlier than originally predicted, many Bronxville residents rushed out to gather supplies and groceries. By late afternoon, stores had closed early and most people had gone home. In the evening, students and parents learned that schools would have a delayed opening today.
MyhometownBronxville sent its two seasoned photographers, Allaire Warner and Neely Bower, out into the cold to capture the storm in photos.
