Jun. 17, 2015: Excavation and environmental cleanup of the Kensington Road condominium development has progressed to the point that Gateway Development Group, Inc., has made plans to begin selling units after Labor Day.
At its June 8 meeting, the Bronxville Planning Board approved Gateway Development's application to open a sales office at 19 Park Place.
Neil DeLuca, Gateway representative, noted that the environmentally sensitive portion of the Kensington Road condominium development has been cleaned according to New York State Department of Environmental Conservation requirements. He added that rock removal has progressed sufficiently to enable the developer to prepare to file its application with the building department to begin building the piers for the parking garage.
"Ideally, the sales office needs to be in operation eighteen months before the certificate of occupancy is issued for the Kensington Road project," DeLuca said. "According to the construction schedule, that would bring us to about Labor Day."
DeLuca anticipates that demolition and build-outs in the 19 Park Place office would require six to seven weeks.
The office staff will consist of a receptionist, two or three salespeople, and two design professionals who will work with buyers to personalize the condominium units.
