Wednesday, September 9: The Bronxville Planning Board and Design Review Committee will hold a meeting in the trustees room at Bronxville Village Hall, with the design review committee meeting to be held at 7:00 pm followed by the planning board meeting at 7:30 pm. Thursday, September 10: Gramatan Village will hold an open house from 10:00 am to noon at 85 Pondfield Road in Bronxville where the benefits of a Gramatan Village membership will be discussed. For more information, call Member Services at 914-337-1338.
Thursday, September 10: The Bronxville Public Library will host a multi-media presentation about safaris to Africa to be given by Elli Travel Group of Larchmont. To register and for more information, call 914-337-7680, ext. 24.
Thursday, September 10: The OSilas Gallery at Concordia College will celebrate its tenth season by presenting the exhibition Season X: Celebrating a Decade, with an opening reception at 7:00 pm. The exhibition will feature artists and collectors who have shown their art in one of the gallery's major exhibitions over the past nine seasons, but the works in the exhibition will not be ones that have been exhibited at the gallery previously (or, in many cases, anywhere else).
Thursday, September 10: The Eastchester Board of Fire Commissioners will hold its regular monthly meeting at 7:00 pm at Bronxville Village Hall. The board will adjourn to executive session after a salute to the flag and is expected to return to the public meeting at approximately 8:00 pm.
Saturday, September 12: There will be three events for runners and walkers of all ages, plus music and entertainment, to raise funds for Elizabeth's Hope and the Children's Brain Tumor Project at Weill Cornell Brain and Spine Center beginning at 8:00 am on the fields behind The Bronxville School. Saturday, September 12: Concordia Conservatory will be hosting its annual open house, Conservatory-On-Parade, where students of all ages can learn about the music school's offerings for the school year and can try out a wide range of instruments, including strings, winds, and piano, as well as percussion. Saturday, September 12: Village Lutheran Church will be holding a coffee house in its multipurpose room beginning at 7:30 pm at which The Class of Life, A Theatrical Experience will be performed. "The Class of Life is a theatrical experience that takes the audience on a journey that highlights one man's life. The story begins on the last day of his distinguished career as a police officer. This day gives way to reminiscing about his motivation to become a police officer, his proud Italian heritage, his upbringing, and married life." Adult tickets are $10. Sunday, September 13: NewYork-Presbyterian/Lawrence Hospital is sponsoring Bicycle Sundays on the Bronx River Parkway from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm on September 13, 20, and 27. The parkway will be closed to vehicular traffic.
