VillaBXV Construction Well Under Way; Parking Garage Work Progresses

Feb. 24, 2016: With concrete work on the VillaBXV parking garage approximately 30 percent complete, construction on the long-awaited Kensington Road condominium development is well under way.
"The mild weather that has characterized much of the winter so far has been advantageous," said Geoff Thompson, partner at public relations agency Thompson & Bender.
He added that the second level of the garage, at the north end of the site, is currently under construction. The 300-space garage will provide 120 indoor parking spaces for VillaBXV residents, with the remaining spaces earmarked for merchants and the public.
Thompson stated that initial construction on the residences, which will be built on top of the parking garage, is expected to begin in April. Work will continue on the garage with completion expected later in 2016, according to Peggy Conway, Bronxville deputy treasurer.
According to the Bronxville Police Department, drivers who have already experienced recent Kensington Road closures because of concrete pouring can expect more road closures through April, when the project moves into the residence construction phase.
The 54 condominium residences at VillaBXV will have one-, two-, or three-bedrooms that range in size from 1,300 square feet to over 2,000 square feet. Penthouse units will feature rooftop terraces, and garden units will have patios.
Thompson projects an anticipated summer 2017 move-in date for residents.
