Dee Sorensen and Margaret and Anthony Colavita to Be Honorees at Bronxville Women's Club Benefit April 24

Mar. 2, 2016: The Bronxville Women's Club ("BWC") is thrilled to announce Bronxville resident and longtime member of the club Clara T. (Dee) Sorensen as its Woman of the Year and Margaret and Anthony Colavita, longtime Eastchester residents, recipients of its Distinguished Community Service Award for 2016.
A wine-and-dessert reception will be held on Sunday, April 24, from 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm at the BWC.
Proceeds for the evening will benefit the improvements to the BWC's historic clubhouse, which is on the National Register of Historic Places. The BWC is a not-for-profit organization.
The public is invited to help the BWC honor these wonderful people, who have given so much to their communities.

Clara (Dee) Sorensen
Member of the BWC since 1964 and served on many committees at the club throughout the years. Founding member of the Bronxville Trading Post and the BHS Teen Center. Volunteer for The Bronxville Historical Society and the Bronxville Senior Citizens Council and a board member for the Family Consultation of Westchester.
Margaret McGorty Colavita

Served as a town co-chairman of The Community Fund of Bronxville, Eastchester, and Tuckahoe; serves on the board of the Eastchester Tuckahoe Chamber of Commerce. Committee member the gala and concert committees for Eastchester's 350th anniversary celebration. Volunteered as a Little League team mother and Cub Scout and Girl Scout troop assistant.
Anthony Colavita

Former supervisor for the Town of Eastchester; spearheaded the purchase of Lake Isle Country Club for the residents of Eastchester, Bronxville, and Tuckahoe; oversaw the planning and development of the town's first senior citizens residence on Jackson Avenue; founded the town Columbus Day parade and festival; helped to initiate the Eastchester Youth Soccer League. Serves as a lifelong volunteer fireman.
