Wednesday, August 24: At Alden Place at 3:45 pm, a 37-year-old female resident was the victim of a “flim-flam” scam. The victim listed a couch for sale on Craigslist for $350. A subject mailed her a check for $1,610.00, which she deposited in her account. The subject requested the overpayment back, as it was claimed to be an error. The victim returned the difference via Western Union to find later that a stop payment had been ordered on the original check she had received.
