With the markets and economy changing all the time, you may feel less than confident about reaching your retirement goals. This seminar will offer tips and strategies that can help you understand how financial and physical health may be intertwined and show you ways to generate dependable income that could last through your whole retirement. Gypsy Music and Dance - A Dazzling Journey: Saturday, November 12, 2016, at 3:00 pm
Join acclaimed international concert violinist David Podles on a pulsating musical tour through gypsy camp grounds. Showcasing gypsy music from Romania, Russia, Poland, Latvia, India, Spain, and former Yugoslavia, David’s violin will delight you in bringing this mystical culture of the world famous nomads whose music remains rich in mystery and ancient traditions. A gypsy dance performance will accompany the music.

Join Shoko Iwata as she demonstrates the art of Japanese flower arranging. Registration required.

Nov. 10 @ 4:00 pm - Author Visit and Storytime: Join Alessandra Calamai, author of the Celery Charles and Pals series, for a reading of her books. A simple craft activity will follow. Open to ages 3 & up.
Nov. 6-12: It’s our Annual Story time Election! Stop by the children’s room to cast your vote for story time president. Examine campaign posters, step inside our voting booth, and select the next character president! Fun for all ages.
Nov. 4 & Nov. 18 - Baby Sign Language: An introduction to sign language for everyday activities such as mealtime, bedtime, and bath time, Signs are taught through song, activity, movement, and a short book to reinforce the signs. Open to babies ages 4-15 months. Registration required.
New Databases
Literature Resource Center is perfect for high school and college students looking for literary criticism for their school assignments. Full-text articles from scholarly journals and literary magazines are combined with critical essays, work and topic overviews, full-text works, biographies, and more to provide a wealth of information on authors, their works, and literary movements. Researchers at all levels will find the information they need, with content covering all genres and disciplines, all time periods and all parts of the world.
Historical New York Times provides easy access to the past. Researchers can search over 20 different article types to find exactly what they are looking for including: news, editorials, obituaries, birth and marriage announcements and more. Every issue includes the complete paper, cover-to-cover, with full-page and article images in easily downloadable PDF format. This historical newspaper provides genealogists, researchers and scholars with online, easily-searchable first-hand accounts and unparalleled coverage of the politics, society and events of the time.
Both databases can be accessed from home through our website (Bronxville Library card required) or by using the Library's public access computers.
