Donald Trump Wins Presidential Election in Stunning Victory

Nov. 9, 2016: Bronxvillians woke up today to the surprise victory of Donald Trump as president of the United States. At the local level, however, Hillary Clinton carried the day. According to the unofficial voting results posted on the Westchester County Board of Elections website at 5:30 am, Hillary Clinton won 65% of the vote in Westchester County. President-elect Donald Trump won 32%. The actual vote count was 245,670 votes for Clinton and 121,643 for Trump.
Election results for Bronxville are not yet available for two of the election districts (17 and 20), but the counts for the five other districts are below:
District 16: Clinton 289; Trump 157
District 17: Missing
District 18: Clinton 187; Trump 93
District 19: Clinton 229; Trump 135
District 20: Missing
District 21: Clinton 165; Trump 116
District 22: Clinton 278; Trump 186
Voting Results for Presidential Elections in Previous Years
According to data researched and compiled by Bronxville resident Marilynn Hill and provided by The Bronxville Historical Conservatory, Bronxville has only once cast more votes for a Democratic candidate for president since 1920, and that was for Obama in 2008. In all the other years, a majority of Bronxvillians voted for the Republican candidate. Over those years, Republican candidates won 13 of the national presidential elections, including the 2016 election of Donald Trump, and Democratic candidates won 12.
