May 27, 2017, 2:29 pm, Bronxville Tennis Courts: A female caller reported that an unknown male was disrupting play at the courts. Officers interviewed the male, who left of his own accord. No crime was committed.
May 29, 2017, 12:56 am, Palmer Avenue: A 44-year-old man from Easton, PA, was charged with DWI after he was stopped for driving the wrong way on a one-way street. He was also cited for driving the wrong way around the traffic island, no lights, and refusal to take a breath test. He was released on $200 bail pending his next court appearance.
May 29, 2017, 1:42 pm, Park Avenue: Police officers discovered an open door while performing a routine dark-house check. Officers secured the residence and all appeared to be in order.
May 30, 2017, 10:24 am, Midland Avenue: There was a two-vehicle accident. There were no injuries, and an information exchange was completed.
May 30, 2017, 6:09 pm: Westchester Child Protective Services requested that an officer conduct a child endangerment investigation. CPS conducted its investigation as officers stood by. No further police action was warranted.
May 31, 2017, 5:05 pm, White Plains Road: A 37-year-old man from the Bronx was charged with Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument in the Second Degree (class D felony) after police responded to a 911 call from a homeowner describing a suspicious male she believed was trying to retrieve a package sent to her home. The man was found to be in possession of a fraudulent NYS driver license bearing the homeowner's name and address. He was also cited for an unregistered vehicle, operating without insurance, and an uninspected motor vehicle. He was arraigned by Judge George Mayer and released on $750 bail pending his next court appearance.
June 1, 2017, 9:22 am, Beverly Road: A homeowner reported that a truck had hit the wall in front of her home and that the driver was attempting to leave the area. Officers arrived quickly and a subsequent inquiry revealed that the driver's license had five active suspensions. The driver was charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the 3rd Degree and Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident. He was released on $200 bail pending his next court appearance.
June 2, 2017, 5:14 pm, Fordal Road: A homeowner reported that six of his checks totaling over $17,000 had been fraudulently cashed. The incident is being investigated.
June 3, 2017, 11:40 pm, Parkway Road: A homeowner reported that her laptop had been taken over by a hacker who locked the computer and displayed a phone number to call to unlock it. The homeowner called the number and spoke to a man who demanded $650 to unlock the computer. The ransom was paid and then the incident was reported to police, who are investigating.
June 4, 2017, 2:02 pm: Police officers responded to and quelled a verbal dispute between family
members. A domestic incident report was completed; no crime was committed.
June 4, 2017, 8:38 pm, Northwest Way: A homeowner reported that four large piles of yard waste including grass and other organic material had been dumped on her property overnight.
June 4, 2017, 11:29 pm: Police officers responded to and quelled a verbal dispute between family members. A domestic incident report was completed; no crime was committed.
June 6, 2017, 1:21 pm, Palumbo Place: Officers completed a motor vehicle accident report after a village-owned backhoe struck a parked vehicle causing damage to the rear passenger-side quarter panel.
June 6, 2017, 6:42 pm: Officers responded to a verbal dispute between family members. No crime was committed. A domestic incident report was completed.
June 8, 2017, 12:15 am, Elm Rock Road: A police officer reported that while performing routine patrol she observed that the stop sign normally located at the corner of Elm Rock Road and Greenfield Avenue was missing. A temporary stop sign was put in place. The incident is being investigated.
June 8, 2017, 1:44 pm, Concordia College: Officers responded to a 911 hang-up call originating from the library building. The building was canvassed and the librarian was interviewed. No one appeared to be in need of police assistance.
