Bronxville Police Blotter: September 8 to September 17, 2017

Friday, September 8, 3:05 pm, Parkway Road: A table and six chairs that were used for a community event were stolen from the sidewalk overnight. The incident was captured on village surveillance cameras and detectives were able to obtain a license plate number. On September 9 at 4:58 am, a 35-year-old man from the Bronx was arrested on Palmer Road and charged with Petit Larceny. He was released with a desk appearance ticket pending his next court appearance.
Monday, September 11, 1:11 pm, Citibank, 95 Pondfield Road: A 21-year-old man from Mount Vernon was charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument in the 2nd Degree (class D felony). Police were alerted by the bank manager that he was attempting to cash a fraudulent check in the amount of $3,965.65. The arresting officer, Police Officer Christopher Blessington, arrived while he was still inside the bank. He was also in possession of a fraudulent Citibank MasterCard. He was arraigned by Judge George Mayer and was transported to the Westchester County jail after failing to post $1,000 bail.
Monday, September 11, 4:00 pm, Park Place and Kraft Avenue: A 50-year-old man from Yonkers was issued an appearance ticket for Consumption of Alcohol in Public after Police Officer DiBenedetto observed him drinking from a 40 oz Budweiser can at the corner of Park Place and Kraft Avenue.
Wednesday, September 13, 6:35 am, Valley Road: A Bronxville resident reported that two of his vehicles had been entered overnight and that specific items had been stolen. Bronxville and Tuckahoe police officers responded and canvassed the area. Tuckahoe police reported that they arrested a 58-year-old man of Greenburgh in their jurisdiction. He was in possession of property belonging to the Bronxville victim at the time of his arrest. He was charged in Tuckahoe with Petit Larceny and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 5th Degree
Thursday, September 14, 3:07 am, Library Lane: A 61-year-old man of Yonkers was charged with Felony DWI (2 previous convictions within 10 years) after he was stopped by Police Officer Michael Lewis for Speeding in the School Zone on Midland Avenue. The man, who was operating the vehicle with a revoked driver license for a previous DWI conviction, was arraigned by Judge George Mayor after refusing to submit to a breath test. He was transported to the Westchester County jail after failing to post $2,500 bail.
Friday, September 15, 2017, 1:35 pm, HSBC, Pondfield Road: An account holder reported that a fraudulent check in the amount of $500.05 had been cashed against his account. The incident is being investigated.
Saturday, September 16, 2017, 1:38 pm, Studio Arcade: A woman reported that her purse containing $160, credit cards, and personal information had been stolen from her parked car. The vehicle was unlocked and the alarm was not armed.
Sunday, September 17, 2017, 6:58 pm, Citibank, Pondfield Road: A female victim reported that she received a check for an item she was selling on OfferUp in the amount of $4,955 and deposited the check into her account. The buyer then contacted her and demanded a refund. The victim withdrew the money from her account and sent the refund but found out later that the original check had never cleared. The incident is being investigated.
Sunday, September 17, 2017, 8:00 am, Upper Kensington Lot: Windows of two vehicles were smashed while parked overnight. One bag containing miscellaneous items valued at $70 was stolen from one vehicle. No items have been reported stolen from the second vehicle.
