In her address, Borducci recalled memorable moments, including entering writing competitions and earning recognition for her work. She expressed gratitude to the teachers, counselors and peers who supported her growth and self-confidence.
“From my early days of writing comic books in first grade to achieving this creative milestone in middle school, I feel ready and excited to face the next chapter of my life as I transition into high school here at Bronxville,” Borducci said.
D’Amato reflected on the academic and personal growth he and his classmates experienced over the last three years.
“We might have crossed the other side of the bridge of middle school, but our ladders are endless,” he said. “The sky’s the limit for all of us. I hope the Class of 2029 continues to reach higher toward their goals.”
Erman-Thurmond shared her favorite memories and described how the class had grown more confident and resilient. Reid echoed these sentiments, acknowledging her peers’ talents and accomplishments in athletics, the arts and academics.
“I am truly proud of each and every one of us,” Reid said. “It hasn’t always been easy, but we have so much potential, and I’m excited for what our future holds.”
In her remarks, Hogue reminded her peers that while some parts of life may feel predetermined, they hold the power to shape their futures through the choices they make — with kindness, courage and integrity.
Principal Mercora addressed the students and their families with heartfelt words, reflecting on memorable experiences and the legacy the Class of 2029 leaves behind. He praised their innovation and leadership, noting that the middle school years have served as a powerful bridge to the opportunities ahead in high school.
“Middle school is a time of growth, challenge and celebration of achievement,” Mercora said. “The students leave a wonderful legacy behind at Bronxville Middle School. They have paved the way with so many new innovations that will continue and evolve long after they leave our school.”
The ceremony concluded with students being called individually to accept their certificates, symbolizing the beginning of their next chapter as high school freshmen this fall.
