Concordia College Named 2015-2016 College of Distinction

Aug. 19, 2015: For the fifth consecutive year, Concordia College has been honored as a College of Distinction.
Colleges of Distinction is a college guide organization with a unique approach. Instead of looking for the richest or the most famous schools, the guide asks about what really matters: "Which colleges are the best places to learn, to grow, and to succeed?"
The College of Distinction designation is given to select schools to honor their excellence in undergraduate-focused higher education.
Concordia was found to excel in all four Distinction categories and will be featured on the Colleges of Distinction website. The four Distinctions are (1) engaged students, (2) great teaching, (3) vibrant community, and (4) successful outcomes.
High school counselors and educators nominate colleges and universities, and each institution is evaluated on key indicators, including student engagement, student empowerment, and curricular innovation. The annual selection process also includes a review of each institution's freshman experience, as well as its general education program, strategic plan, and alumni success and satisfaction measures.
Concordia was also named as a 2015-2016 Christian College of Distinction, the only New York institution recognized with this honor.
"Concordia College has taken pride in its missional calling to transform lives for service to church and society for the past 135 years," said Dr. Viji George, president of Concordia. "We are pleased beyond measure to see that our efforts are being recognized by others. Such recognition spurs us to continue to do what we do so well."
