Bill Cade and Matthew Roche Honored at National Football Foundation and Hall of Fame Dinner

Feb. 1, 2017: Two Eastchester residents were honored at the annual "Golden Dozen" National Football Foundation and Hall of Fame dinner held on Thursday, January 26, at the Westchester Country Club.

William (Bill) F. Cade Jr. was presented with the Contribution to Amateur Football Award for his forty-three years of service to the Eastchester Blue Devils and Pop Warner Football. He has over 300 career wins and has coached thousands of youngsters over his long tenure. His dedication to the youth of Eastchester made him a perfect choice for this award.

Matthew Roche, a senior at Eastchester High School, was an honorable mention award winner. He has played football for many years and has earned a reputation as a great competitor.

Eastchester Supervisor Anthony S. Colavita remarked, "Mr. Cade’s contributions to the Eastchester Blue Devils, Eastchester Little League, Eastchester Instructional Basketball League and chairmanship of the Eastchester Recreation Advisory Board more than justify this prestigious recognition. Congrats to Matt Roche for his competitive spirit." Go Blue Devils! Go Eagles!

Proclamations were also read by Supervisor Anthony S. Colavita on behalf of County Executive Rob Astorino and County Legislator Sheila Marcotte and the Town of Eastchester.
