Apr. 1, 2015: Every day Augustus would show up at the same house looking for something or someone. It turns out his previous owners moved away and left him behind. The house he was returning to once belonged to him.

It was immediately obvious that Augustus should not be outside and did not know how to fend for himself. He was quickly rescued and taken to the New Rochelle Humane Society.

Augustus is a healthy, medium-sized, ten-year-old domestic shorthair tabby. This sweet and loving cat is hoping to spend the rest of his life in a caring home where he can shower his owner with affection. He has beautiful green eyes that you cannot see from his photo because he managed to blink every time a picture was taken.

Augustus is eligible for the shelter's "Silver Whiskers Program," which provides ongoing medical care through the shelter free of charge (among other benefits).

Augustus is in good health, neutered, litter-box trained, and up to date with his vaccinations. He is available for immediate adoption.

The shelter is open seven days a week from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm except Thursdays, when it is open from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
