Pet of the Week: Chip

Apr. 15, 2015: Chip is a darling tuxedo kitty who has had a very tough life until now. She was found in the Brooklyn Animal Shelter, emaciated and filthy, with a broken leg and a perforated belly. A local Bronxville pet lover pulled her out of the shelter and had her fixed up at her vet. She is now the lovely girl you see pictured here.
Chip is very little. She is one to two years old but still the size of a kitten. Chip is currently being boarded at a veterinarian's office since her rescuer is unable to bring her home. The woman who rescued her says she will eat out of the palm of her hand and sit calmly beside her during visits but is still somewhat fearful of people. She would do best in a calm, quiet home with a patient person who has had cats before and understands their behavior and needs.
Chip needs to learn to trust people again. She needs a home, either a foster home or, preferably, a permanent home. She is looking for someone who will help her come out of her shell and turn her life around for the better. Chip needs to learn what it means to love and be loved.
