Pet of the Week: Gage

By Allison Roesser
Nov. 9, 2016: Hello, my name is Gage. I am a young, medium-sized cattle dog mix who is looking for a fun and active family I can share my life with.
I came from an overcrowded shelter in Ohio with a few of my friends and cannot wait to see what New York has to offer. There are so many places to go and exciting things to see, so I am hoping to find someone who loves to explore as much as I do. I am far from a couch potato; I enjoy hiking, jogging, and pretty much any activity that keeps my mind and body going.
I don't mean to brag, but if you know anything about my breed, you would be correct to guess that I am as smart as a whip. I have mastered some basic training and am hoping to continue my education and learn more fun and challenging skills.
I am a loyal, family-oriented guy who gets along with all the people and animals I meet. I am ready and waiting for my new home, so please come visit me today at the Humane Society of Westchester.
I am just ten minutes from Bronxville at 70 Portman Road in New Rochelle. The shelter is open from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm every day except Thursdays, when it is open from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
If you would like more information about how to adopt me, please contact the shelter at
