Pet of the Week: Romeo

By Allison Roesser
My bounty is as boundless as the sea,
My love as deep; the more I give to thee,
The more I have, for both are infinite.
-- William Shakespeare, Romeo and Juliet, Act II, Scene ii
Apr. 5, 2017: My name is Romeo. I am handsome, eloquent, smart as whip, and, of course, full of love, passion, and loyalty, just like my namesake.
Just a young fellow, I am a Catahoula/Labrador retriever mix and will probably grow up to be a large breed dog. I enjoy going for walks and thrive when given kisses and cuddles. Not only do I get along with other dogs, I also enjoy hanging out with my sworn enemies, aka my feline friends (this is not fair Verona).
I enjoy being around people and have a lot of spring in my step. Because of my size and energy, I would probably fit best with a family that doesn't have very young children. Not because there is anything wrong with me, but only because I am strong and don't want to accidentally squash anyone. My heart is gold and I cannot wait to share with you all the love it holds. Yes, a rose by any other name would still smell as sweet, but I hope I am the one you choose.
You can meet me today at the Humane Society of Westchester (the former New Rochelle Humane Society). The shelter is open seven days a week from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm except Thursdays, when it is open from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
For information about how to adopt me, please contact us or visit our website at http://www.humanesocietyofwestchester.org/.
