Jan. 10, 2023: Bronxville High School squash is off to a strong 2023-24 season with all three teams entering the new year undefeated. Bronxville Boys Varsity, Girls Varsity, and Mixed B teams compete in the FairWest Squash League, the largest public school squash league in the country.
On December 11th, Bronxville Boys Varsity prevailed against Darien Boys Varsity, 5-2, at Chelsea Piers Stamford. Seven exciting head-to-head matches culminated with senior Rustin Wiser besting Darien High School junior, Maddox Moxham, 12-10, 11-1, 12-10. Seniors Andrew Shah and Jackson Meyercord also posted match wins, as well as junior Ian Achargee, and sophomore John Shah. On December 5th, the team beat Westport Boys Varsity, 7-0.\
Bronxville Girls Varsity battled New Canaan Girls Varsity on December 14th at Westchester Squash Academy with a clean sweep of wins from senior Scarlett Hine, sophomores Isabel Yeon, Emma Yeon and Serena Lescott, and freshmen Maggie Miner and Rosie Vorbach. This comes on the heels of the team’s 5-2 win against Greenwich Girls Varsity on December 7th.
In the fall, Wiser will play squash at the University of Pennsylvania while Hine will play at Bates College.
This week brings more excitement on the courts with Bronxville Mixed B facing Greenwich B on January 10th, Bronxville Boys Varsity v. Greenwich Boys Varsity on January 11th, and Bronxville Girls Varsity v. Westport Girls Varsity on January 11th.
