Bronxville Lights up the Town with a Movie, Firetruck, Tree Lighting, Cocoa, Cookies, and More! See Photos!

By Leslie Corcoran

Dec. 6, 2023: This year's "Light Up the Town" event in Bronxville was a smashing success!  As Leslie Corcoran, Executive Director of the Chamber, shared “everything went so smoothly, and everyone had a great time."  She also thanked everyone for the "hard work and time" that they put into the event.

The event began with "PJ's at the Picture House," sponsored by the Bronxville Chamber of Commerce, the Village Design Studio, and the Hackett Home Team. Kids dressed in their pajamas, attended a screening of the 2018 animated version of "The Grinch," made crafts, and got a picture with Santa Claus.  There was also a Pajama Drive for "Room to Grow" which supports parents and caregivers so that their children "thrive from the start."

After the movie and a visit with Mayor Marvin and Village Administrator Jim Palmer, the Eastchester Fire Department and the Bronxville Police Department escorted Santa Claus on a big red firetruck to the Christmas Tree Lighting, which took place on the island across from the Bronxville Diner. The attendees of the Picture House event walked behind the firetruck.

Leah Caro, owner of Park Sterling Realty and co-president of the Bronxville Chamber of Commerce, welcomed the attendees, and "Basic Pitch," a woman's acapella group from New York City, sang holiday songs.

After a festive countdown, the village Christmas Tree was lit, and everyone enjoyed hot cocoa, chocolate chip cookies, and candy canes.

So now the holiday season in Bronxville can be said to be officially open!
