Dec. 6, 2023: The Bereavement Center of Westchester Tree House ("BCW") hosted the first ever Mad for Plaid fundraiser at the Bronxville home of Heather & Stephen Lamberton on Saturday, November 18th.
The Mad for Plaid benefit was a Saint Andrews Day inspired evening where guests were greeted by bagpipers and enjoyed live Celtic music by The Murphy Beds and highland dancing by the famed Shot of Scotch dancers.
Best of all, the event was an opportunity for everyone to show off their most fashionable plaid attire including many men sporting their very best dress kilts!
A highlight of the evening was the presentation of the first Tree House Welling award, in honor of Tom Welling who was a great champion of BCW Tree House and President of the Lawrence Community Health Services (LCHS) board.
Thomas Welling Jr presented the award to Janie Regan and spoke eloquently about Janie’s undying commitment to the Tree House as not only a volunteer for the past 20 years but also as a member of the Tree House and LCHS boards.
David O’Shaughnessy, husband of board chair MK O’Shaughnessy, expertly auctioned off four glamorous golf outings raising over $20,000 dollars for the Tree House.
MK O’Shaughnessy thanked her co-chairs Hilary Blumenreich and Wendy Halley for all the hard work and effort they put into making "Mad for Plaid: a huge success. The event raised record funds for the Tree House.
MK also thanked all the Tree House supporters and staff members whose dedication and support touches the lives of so many children and families who have lost loved ones.
